In honor of Veterans Day, Prairiewood Elementary and Creekside Middle Schools hosted a breakfast for Veterans in their family. Along with breakfast everyone enjoyed performances by the choirs, band, and orchestra.

Prairiewood Elementary's own Maestra Cristina was recently honored by the Illinois State Board of Education for the strong connections she makes with students, accelerating their language growth. Cristina De la Fuente Gonzalez, a first-grade dual language teacher, was one of about 500 of thousands of educators from across Illinois who were selected in the 2025 Those Who Excel awards program.
